Fidler on the Roof KC, a Kansas City roofing company, wanted to demonstrate its distinct approach and aesthetic workmanship.
Although Fidler on the Roof KC installs many composition roofs, the contractor wanted to emphasize its work in the more specialized areas of tile and stone. Most residential roofing companies stick to composition. This distinction sets Fidler apart.
Our challenge was, “How can we illustrate this?” There are a number of approaches that could have proven promising:
Before/after
Problem/solution
Conflict/resolution
When researching potential ideas, we came across this concert setup time-lapse from Rammstein, a German heavy metal band. (Of course! Where else would we look?)
The concept we settled on was a blend of all the above: before, during and after. We would chronicle the project from start to finish (although not every single minute would be logged).
So that’s what we did. Cameras rolled for hours and hours. Numerous photos were taken, from the ground, on the roof and in the air. Then gigabytes of roofing images and work were reviewed, edited and consolidated into a final project.
In the process of crating the video, we demonstrated the care that goes into each project. Finally, the “big finish” included drone photography of the finished roof in a spectacular waterfront setting.
A bonus was a huge cache of high-quality photos and video that could be used in many other contexts, such as social media, the website and in promotional materials.
We appreciate the opportunity to demonstrate the skills of great craftsmen and craftswomen of Fidler on the Roof KC.
